For this workshop participants should come prepared with at least one 5 minute lightning talk on a topic in software testing. It could be anything from management to coding, IT to software, mobile to mainframe. Variety is the goal.
Each presenter will have 5 minutes for each talk. You can use slides if you like. You can choose not to use slides if you like. You can give a realtime demonstration of something if you like. You can also do a pair talk if you like (but we prefer if you have more than one if that's the case). After each talk, we'll leave another five minutes for questions. Then we move on. Each speaker will get ten minutes total.

For many testers, a big part of their work is effective and efficient documentation. Even for testers who don't have compliance requirements to adhere to, often there are personal testing notes, coverage documentation, defects, and release communications that require our attention. We think it would be interesting to hear and see different ways that testers document their testing. The more examples and specific tools/techniques people can bring to the table, the better.
Possible topics include:
This is a five-hour peer workshop that occurs on a Saturday. It will include regular breaks for networking and refreshments. The workshop is limited to 15 to 25 people.

Test Automation comes with its own challenges. Those include low or inappropriate test coverage. Dealing with and working to prevent a negative ROI. Facilitating automation beyond UI or functional testing. In addition, there are staffing challenges, tooling/technology challenges, and timing challenges. With this workshop, we're interested in experiences with dealing with these challenges and are looking for talks showing examples and/or strategies for making your automation effort successful.
